Welcome!
Revolutions have always been a huge inspiration to me for several reasons. The vast amount of human progress that comes about through revolutionary ideas, often leading to wars, fascinates me. Although many lives have been lost due to the overwhelming fear of change, spreading innovation throughout the world is an imperative part of human development. As governments and cultures are built and destroyed, the marketplace of ideas continues to endure and thrives on an everlasting desire for "justice, liberty and freedom for all".
When we look into the reasons behind any given revolution, it is the oppression of the human soul that creates a never ending battle towards self expression and such essential human rights. It starts in the mind and slowly breathes life into the people around until no one can take it any longer, and something has to be done to utilize the freedom that we each were blessed with from birth.
Revolutions in Europe and Latin America Unit: 9th Grade World History
This unit plan focuses on the French Revolution and Latin American revolutions, emphasizing the correlation to religious movements of medieval Europe, in order to recollect the reasoning behind self expression with or without the conceit of government. It consists of an curriculum plan; and also an unit plan which includes a grading rubric, five lesson plans with well developed assessments and plenty of helpful resources and videos to assist in the education of revolutions in Europe and Latin America.
About Me:
My name is Ryan Jacobs. I currently attend UNC Wilmington and
the Watson Education College. I am pursuing my Bachelor's
degree in Political Science and licensure in secondary education.
I plan on teaching high school social studies, as I also work towards a degree in law and eventually a Master's degree.
When I was nineteen, I decided to move to Venezuela. I wanted to experience the daily life and culture of a different country. It was a wonderful experience. I am a proud member of the Dropout Prevention Coalition of North Carolina. I spend my free time working for the Board of Elections in Wilmington, walking and donating for NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association), and enjoying quality time with my wife, Mollie and my two boys, Dane and Kade. Also, I work to spread awareness concerning animal cruelty and try my best to maintain a healthy vegetarian diet. I love Wilmington and will probably live here for a long time because of the beach and the community itself.
